Selçuk

The village was founded by the Greeks, but the village was emptied during the War of Independence, and the Turks were settled by the state and a settlement was established through migration. There is no information about its name in the Greek period. It is said that it got its current name after the murder of Selçuk Bey, the beloved farm owner in the region.

The people who migrated from Bulgaria during the War of Independence constitute the largest settlement. Its people are called Pomak. The language they speak is called Pomak. The village land generally consists of flat plains and low hills.

The economy of a village depends on agriculture and husbandry. Although its agriculture is mainly on wheat and sunflower, barley, melon, watermelon and onion are also grown.

There is no primary school in the village and bussed education is used. The village has drinking water network and a sewerage network, a health center and a health house. There is no post office. The road that provides access to the village is asphalt and there is electricity, fixed telephone and broadband internet (ADSL) support in the village.

The population in 2019 is 343 people. After Tekirdağ gained the metropolitan status on December 6, 2012, all villages turned into neighborhoods.
